About Me

 

Lauren McCay is a 5-time Emmy Award and National Gracie Award winning Content Creator, Producer, Reporter and TV Host with a diverse range of experience. For the past decade, she's worn many hats, including producer, reporter, content creator, and on-camera talent for networks like NPR, PBS, and ABC.  And now, she's taking all of that experience, knowledge and hard-work and putting it into Satis (pronounced Sah-Teece) Media Group. The name comes from the Latin word meaning 'Enough,' which is what she believes everyone's story and journey is, enough for them and their own timing. So when we tell more of those authentic, real and 'enough' stories, we get to experience life through a different lens.

Being able to be creative in media production is what Lauren is truly passionate about. While at WVIZ/PBS, she showed her leadership skills as the content creator, producer and host of the lifestyle food series, Beyond the Dish, which won several awards, boosted ratings/viewership and was picked up by a national network, PBS Digital Studios, within just its first year on the air. For this, Lauren had to supervised the production team, oversaw the budget, coordinated marketing efforts & promos, and handled production contracts with outside companies, scheduled shoots, vetted guests and much more.

As the Enterprise Community Reporter for News 5 (WEWS/Scripps-ABC), she created a niche for myself of doing in-depth storytelling on people and issues directly affecting the community in Cleveland, and lead the investigative production team for the first part of the Gangs in Cleveland series, which recently won 2 Emmy Awards. She is dedicated to good storytelling, hard-work and diligence.

 

During that time she also developed her love and expertise in solo travel and mental health. Once bitten by the travel bug, there was no stopping her travels. Over the years she's visited Spain, Morroco, Egypt, Paris, London and so much more. She's in the process of writing her book about her travels and how her particular form of travel has help save life through health and mental health advocacy.
